Fisher 30 – OPS

OPS – Fisher 30 yacht, built by North Shore Boat Yard in 1972 .

Official Number: 359499

March 2017 Survey available (see below).

We purchased Ops in August 2016 from owners who had clearly looked after her well and taken advantage of her considerable cruising capabilities.  The English owners had been cruising the French canal system and we purchased Ops and returned from St Valerie Sur Somme, along the Channel to Plymouth.  Last year we crossed the Channel 4 times and sailed up and down the Devon & Cornwall coasts from Salcombe to Helford. Her sailing performance outstripped my expectations and the engine never missed a beat. We moved home from Plymouth to the North Cornwall countryside in December 2018 so that my wife could look after a horse she had previously owned, this also meant acquiring some grazing and our new place has 7 acres and includes a woodland. With the horse and land, we now find there isn’t enough free time to enjoy Ops so we’re reluctantly offering her for sale.

Ops was re-engined in 2008 with a new Beta 38 and gearbox that have subsequently seen just over 1050 hours and continues to run very sweetly. A new suite of Kemp Dacron Sails and SS standing rigging were installed in 2014 and are all in excellent condition. We had the engine thoroughly overhauled immediately after purchase in 2016.

In 2017 all seacocks were replaced. A new driveshaft, cutlass bearing, electric bilge pump and stern tube were installed. A new wheelhouse control panel was installed in addition to engine temperature and holding tank gauges.

Ops is currently afloat on her mooring at Calstock, Cornwall.   Viewings by appointment only.
